Accounting Records in a Box

Accounting Records in a BoxWith being in public practice for over 10 years, I have seen all sorts of “shoe boxes” when it comes to tax season (and corporate year ends too). When I decided to open my own business, I decided that as a one-person operation, having a few hundred clients come to me with shoe boxes was not likely an ideal situation.

How was I going to teach my clients to collect ALL their business receipts. The system had to follow my S.O.S. motto:

  • keep it SIMPLE (meaning low maintenance)
  • keep it ORGANIZED (meaning all in one spot) and
  • keep it SEPARATE (business and personal must not be mixed)

It also had to be streamlined and visually appealing enough that it could sit on your desk and not be an eyesore. Thus came the idea of “Accounting Records in a Box“.  (Click the link to see the video)

What is “Accounting Records in a Box”? Basically it is a filing system for the sole proprietor or incorporated business that, for the most part, are home based or do not carry inventory. However I do have some clients that are not home based and/or carry minimal inventory who also use it.

Therefore to simplify tax season for you and me, I put these systems together at cost. What I pay is what you pay…no charge for the labour and no assembly required.  For $75 including HST, you can be organized too! Remember I am located in Coquitlam and price does not include delivery.
